Through years of experience I've learned to not be ordinary in my rhymes.
Meaning, take rhyming to another level. Don't just rhyme a single word in a bar.
That's so early 80's. Stand out with your rhyme patterns.
If you listen to my styles of rap, you'll notice me rhyming..
The last 2 or 3 words in a bar:
Heads still nodding - we still rocking"
The first 2 or 3 words and last 2 or 3 words in a bar:
Hoping T will – croak in the game
Flowing sequels - growing pains
It’s open season – focus my aim"
"Pores are open y’all sweating me?
Doors be closing y’all plotting on me?
Words spoken like Socrates
Verbs so hot they shocking me"
"Make it up sweat it up – I love when you touch it up
Bake it up shake it up – Handle you like nun chucks"
Doors be closing y’all plotting on me?
Words spoken like Socrates
Verbs so hot they shocking me"
Or every other word in a bar:
Bake it up shake it up – Handle you like nun chucks"
I've actually taken a verse and attempted to rhyme every single word in the verse:
The Clues I spool will lose you fools
Elude your crews then swoon on you
So don’t misconstrue my moods and moves
Brew you stooges and amuse you too
That’s news to you on the tubes you view
I proves I rules that's what your crews don’t do
I do the do then do the do on you"
And don't be afraid to rhyme only part of a word and continue that word in the next bar:
Nue if Heath don’t get cha this here Kit will Kat cha"
Yes, writing using these method takes time and thought but it shows you have lyrical talent (graduate, not elementary)
My 2 favorite lyrics of all time are AZ and Fabolus because of their complex rhyme schemes.
Also, when using analogies, similes, metaphors, etc, use them in slick, unique, ways.
You can actually use the same comparisons other rappers made but in your own unique way.
